Hellooooooo, Jammers!
Karalee here, with another Wednes -- no wait... It's 12:26. Technically Thursday now.
Oooooooooooops. 😬
Ehheheh. 😳 Sorry about this, guys!
Today -- errm, tonight, we have another Blooger Portrait, this one of Blindbag!
You Guys: "Blooger"? Seriously??
Me: *throws up her hands* I'm the Queen of Typos. You don't expect it by now? 😝
This is the art-request form I got from Blindbag,
and this is her chosen AJ animal!
Thank you for submitting a request, Blindbag! 😁 Here is the finished art!
As you can see, this is the rare species of Blogger Portrait where everything stays in its proper place. 😆 No shuffling-around, no making a tail item a foot item and a foot item a back item, et cetera, et cetera. All that differs from the original avatar is the addition of a dress in the animal's icy-blue swirl pattern.
I tried to make the skin "light beige", but am dubious of success in that area. Is it alright, Blindbag?
I am happy with the leaves of the Head Flower especially, but I'm not proud of the RiM Sword. I'm very happy with the skirt of the dress, and my brain is switching between "love it" and "hate it" with the Diamond Encrusted Gauntlets and how they fit.
If you would like to see yourself in a Blogger (not Blooger) Portrait, and haven't yet filled out a request form, please comment below with these four descriptions:
A. Skintone
B. Hair color/style/length
C. Eye color (optional)
D. The name of the AJ avatar you'd like to wear the outfit of!
That's all for this week, see you next time! 😋 *waves*
PEACE! LOVE! NINJAAAAAAAAS!

Art Block
Hello DAWGZZ, Canine here ( who else would be here? ) Back with another cringeworthy post! Today I'm going to list some things you can draw while dealing with art block. Art block is pretty hard to deal with but with these ideas I'm sure you can make some of your own!
- Your character running
- Your character in a diffrent style ( such as anime )
- Your character sitting
- Your character as a fidget spinner
- Your character drawing
- An opposite version of your character
- Your character ice skating
- Your character playing piano
- Your character drawing you
- You drawing your character
- Aparri
- You and a friend
- Your character in a gif
- You and your character
- A new OC
Those are just some random ideas. Speaking of random ideas... I want to make a JH related manga thingy. Would any of you be interested in being in the manga? If so just let me know in the comments below.

Macaws are Flying Into Jamaa!
Hey Jammers, Arctic here! Hope you are all doing well this week!
For today's post, I thought I'd show you a new edit I made!
You guys: Edits, edits, edits, that's all you ever dooooo ~
Hear me out! I'm really proud of this one!
This time, I decided to tackle an animal - a macaw! This edit is my newest one yet, and I think it turned out quite well!
I tried VERY hard to get the AJ style right. I'm still not 100% there, but I feel like I've improved a lot! The art is definitely my favourite part of the edit, as I felt like I did it quite well!
I've always loved these colourful creatures, and wanted to try out making the full 3-part edit (playable, art, and jamaa journal update) so this was the perfect opportunity! Do they look convincing?
The in-game macaw was definitely the hardest to work with. The wings in particular caused me A LOT of trouble! However, I feel like it all turned out alright!
Would you like to see Macaws in Jamaa? Tell me what you think in the comments!
Sorry for a shorter post this week. I still have a lot going on right now that I have to deal with, heheh. I'll be back and better than ever soon though, just you wait!
See you next week!

Tips That Helped Me Improve My Art
Hello there Jammers! I'm Purplestarclub and this is my first official post after my introduction. Yay! XD I've been very confused over what to post and at the end, I just decided to do the classic ''Tips'' post. Nothing wrong with that, right? The more tips you know, the better! Thanks to Lostfairy for helping me decide what to post. :D
Of course, I still have a long way to go when it comes to drawing but I've learned quite a lot of things about art. The following are some of the tips that helped me improve my art along the way.
1- Learn Realistic Anatomy
I just started learning anatomy and seriously, art is so much easier for me now. I know what some of you are thinking, ''But I draw cartoons. I don't NEED to learn realistic anatomy.'' Well, that's not true at all. You've probably been told this at one time or another, no matter what style you're drawing in, you really do need to learn realistic anatomy first. Once you've learned proper anatomy, you can easily draw in a cartoon-ish art style while making sure that thing you're drawing actually looks like it.
Now, how exactly do I learn this anatomy?
Well, it's not as hard as you think. One of the things I do is look up the skeletal systems of the animal you're drawing. Don't worry, the Google results won't be haunting as long as you don't scroll too deep.
Here's an example:

What I do is that I draw the skeleton (no need to add much detail) and then I try to draw the actual animal on top. Trust me, it's not very complicated.
2. Practicing Everyday!
If you ask any artist how to improve, they'd probably say, ''Practice.'' They're right! Try to draw something, anything, every day. It doesn't have to be a full illustration. Even doodling helps! Last year, while my exams were going on, I was super busy so what I did was just doodle everyday. Just by that 1 month of doodling, my art improved. It's actually true!
3. Adding Shadows.
If you feel like your drawings are super simple and you don't like it, start adding shadows. Even if you don't know how to do it properly, just take that step. You'll learn more about shading and lighting as you go on with your art journey but it's important to start somewhere. Shading helps make an art piece stand out a lot more. Here's an example to help you:

Here's an example to help you:
This is a circle. Pretty simple right. Now let's see how it looks like with shading.
Well, would you look at that. Shading really helps make your art better. All you have to do is plan out a light source and lighten up that area where it's hitting that object with an airbrush and darken the area which is being blocked out by an object.
4- Taking Constructive Criticism.
I've always hated getting criticism, but then I realized that it's not bad at all. If you get it from a nice person or a friend, it can help you improve A LOT! If you're making art in the hope that others like it as well, then you need to know what others think you could work on. Don't feel like they're saying that your art is ''bad'', they're just telling you what you could improve. Sometimes, we just don't see the flaws by ourselves so it's better to know what others think.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that's all that I could think of for now! Let me know if these tips helped or if you'd like to see some more. :) I'll see you all in my next post.
Bye for now!

A Mini Art Display!
Hi everyone! Guess who it is?
You Guys: ...Craz? Sarah? Pur-
You know what, never mind, don't guess... XD!
It's Swirlshine here, and today, I'm gonna be doing something a little different! Last week, Craz gave me the idea in a comment that I should finally showcase some of MY art on a post, so that's exactly what I'll be doing today! I really should have done this a lot sooner (*Cough cough* In my intro post... *cough cough*), and I apologize, but there's no need to dwell on that now, I suppose! (I didn't realize I should've shown some of my art in my first post until everyone else did, eheheh...)
Let's just get on with the post! I'll be showing some of my IRL art AND some AJ Masterpieces, so you'll have a good mix of all that! :D
Covered up my signature, so that's why there's a random date floating there.
First off, this is a drawing I did for my art class last school year! We had to draw a self portrait, so yep, this is me! Figured it'd be okay to show- it was my first time REALLY trying to draw a realistic human, so it's not like it's totally accurate! Still, though, I'm actually pretty proud of this, since I normally stink at humans, XD!
Next up, a little calligraphy-drawing-thing I made for fun and practice! That wolf over the corner is my Animal Jam OC, Sierra, who I'm planning to feature in a fanfiction on my blog! I've always really liked this piece- I just wish I had made it a bit bigger, instead of having it off to the side of a paper! Oh well, XD! Anyways, maybe I'll redo it or color it sometime!
Covered up my signature again because it features my real name. :P
This one was another one I had to do for art class at the end of the school year. The task was to draw something from your future. I didn't really know what to draw at first, since, well, it's the FUTURE, but I've always wanted a greyhound when I'm older, so I drew that! Hehe, its dark-furred eyes kinda remind me of my Pyrenees, Beauty! I used a reference picture on the internet for this one, but it obviously looks a bit different, mainly because mine does NOT look like a photograph, XD!
This one is one of my favorite Masterpieces I've made in Animal Jam (and it might be my #1 favorite, actually)! I did use a reference picture again, but I just kept the background dark blue in mine (mainly because I couldn't figure out how to make a good galaxy background, XD) and focused on all the little stars in the swirly...galaxy...thing? XD!
This art of mine was originally made as a reference to an Owl City song, Galaxies. Now that I think about it... it's almost like a reference to my username. XDD!
Anyway, it took me a very long time to make, and I'm still pretty pleased with the result!
I have this drawing, which is of my wolf jamming out to some music, hanging in my closet (Eheheh, ignore the tape. It works, okay? XDD!) ! I drew this one... 1 or maybe 2 years ago, I believe, but it still remains one of my favorites. Basically, I made this for fun, and because... well, I love music! (I also can't draw humans, so it's not like I could draw myself jamming out to music, XD!) The "Better In Stereo" part is part of a song that I was obsessed with at the time (and I still love it), and I drew it on a music staff because... why not? XD!
I also use this picture a lot as a reference, because I draw my wolf's swirl patterns in a very specific way in every piece of art she's featured in!
Maybe I'll redo this one sometime in the future, too, since I feel like I could use a better pose. Hmm...
I made this one... maybe about a year ago, of my AJ tiger, Miss Windyspirit! Despite how simple it looks, it actually took me a very long time to make! My favorite part would probably have to be the bright pink roses on the Flower Crown, I know, I know, they're not actually that bright in the game, but I really wanted them to pop out, and I think I've done my job, XD!
And finally, an old art commission I did for Redfoxes26 of her arctic fox, Nightmare! You can tell this was years ago- Animal Jam hadn't even released Masterpieces yet! I was basically doing everything on piZap at the time, so it wasn't exactly "pro art", XD! Still, though, even though I could totally do better now, I still am pretty satisfied with how this came out! If I could change something, though, I'd probably fix those claws and make them sharper... and maybe make the bow's string a bit straighter, too.
Well, I suppose that's all I've got for now! Thanks to Crazcat for giving me the idea to make this post! Hopefully, you'll be seeing much, much more of my art on here in the future! Farewell until next Saturday, everyone! Remember to party hard, be kind, and jam on! :D

Art raffle
Heyo, folks! Crazcatlover here, with a post I'm sure you'll enjoy! I mentioned a while ago that it'd be really fun to have bi-weekly or monthly art raffles/giveaways, which you, the readers, can enter. A winner would be chosen randomly, and all of the authors who choose to participate would draw the winner's animal in their own unique art styles! Everyone seemed to enjoy this idea, so today I'll be hosting the first AJAC art raffle!
To enter, leave a comment down below including your Animal Jam username and the name of your Animal Jam avatar that you want drawn if you win! You have until midnight Pacific Daylight Time on Wednesday, August 23rd, to enter. The winner will be announced on my post on Friday the 25th, along with my drawing of the winner's avatar!
All of the participating authors will be posting their drawings of the winner's avatar during the following 1-2 weeks, and if everyone wants to participate again, we'll be hosting more raffles in the future!
So far, Sharae16, Karalee, Sarahkey8, Canine Claw, and I are going to be the authors who will be drawing the raffle winner's AJ avatar. I don't know which authors will be joining in, so I'll update the list of participants once the other authors tell me whether or not they'll be joining in.Oh, and authors of the AJAC can't enter the art raffle, even if they're not participating in drawing the winner's avatar. Sorry!
Make sure to enter this art raffle and share this post with your friends! That's all for today's post, and I hope you have a fabulous day full of joy and hippopotamuses! (Wait, hippopotamuses? That's just so random, I don't even know how I came up with that... and how could your day be filled with hippopotamuses, for that matter...? And is it hippopotamuses, or hippopotami? ARGH, why couldn't I have said something simple, like baby otters? Everyone wants their day to be full of baby otters, right?)
that was a weird outro

Blogger Portrait -- Transions!
*me and Mom, sitting at the table at 8pm*
Me: I think I'm gonna watch some Poldark tonight after all....*
Mom: Didn't you have something to do today?
Me: *thinkedy think think* in head: ...not going to the library, that's Tuesdays, not going grocery shopping, that's tomorrow... *thinka thinka think*
Me: *GASP* 😨
And therefore, A LATE POST.
*To answer the inevitable questions, Poldark is a really cool historical fiction TV show on Amazon Prime, and I hadn't planned on watching it tonight (and apparently still won't be watching it).
Welcome Jammers, back to another Wednesday Blogger Portrait with Karalee!
This week's featured blogger is Transions!
This is the Fox in question --
And this is the finished artwork! 😊
As you can see, Transions' Fox wears a DJ Headset, a Rare Spiked Collar, a Tutu, Elf Armor Bracelets and a Bone Tail. Her pattern is black fire, with purple for her base color and beige for her secondary.
The Bone Tail migrated its way to her feet, seeing as her human form hasn't got a tail. The Elf Armor Bracelets, having been displaced, shifted to her wrists. Her secondary color of beige was turned into leggings/tights under the Tutu, and her main color and pattern were transformed into a shirt with poofy sleeves and a wide V-shaped neckline.
The DJ Headset, the Tutu, and the Rare Spiked Collar all remained in their respective places on the body and in relatively their original state, with the addition of some small Fox ears to the DJ Headset.
I tried drawing a short ponytail, but I wasn't doing so great -- it looked kinda wonky. Thankfully, Transions said "usually" about the ponytail, so I went with what I could draw more gracefully.
Hope you enjoy, Transions! 😁
If you're viewing this post today and would like to be featured in a portrait, please comment down below with what you'd like the art to look like! (If you haven't sent in a submission already.)
To draw you, I'll need your....
A. Skintone
B. Hair color/length/style
C. Eye color (optional)
D. Name of the AJ animal you want to wear the outfit of! 😉
That's all for this week, see you again soon!
PEACE! LOVE! NINJAAAAAAAAAS!
