Spring Art From Across Jamaa!

Hello hello everyone! Happy almost-Easter!!

Hey, look at that! I'm actually posting at a decent time! XD

I wish I had some recent art of my own to show you all, but I haven't made many new drawings lately- I've been pretty busy!

So, for now, until I've made some new art pieces, how about some spring-themed Masterpieces this week, to celebrate the arrival of the season!

First, a beautiful cartoon-style Mira, with a beautiful, flower-y background! I love how "fluffy" the feathers look, and the pastel colors just really make this art awesome as well! Plus, I'm just a sucker for Mira and Zios artwork, XD!

0Ashfur0 is a great artist- I've seen a couple more Masterpiece by them before, and they rocked!

 Next, some very beautiful waterfalls made by the one and only Iciblue! Man, I'd love to actually visit a place like this- it looks so peaceful! My favorite part of this art would have to be the lake/pond at the bottoms of the falls- the color really makes it pop, and the way you can see some slight ripples on the surface is a great touch as well!

 I found this piece forever ago, but I still love it! That raccoon is so adorable, and I just love the pastel colors! Bluetotoro (hmm, a CS reference, perhaps?) is a very underrated artist, in my opinion!

 This piece is pretty popular, but it definitely deserves the over 90,000 likes it has! I absolutely love the way everything looks as if it's almost blowing away in the wind! And all the different-sized flowers is a nice touch as well!

I don't know if I've shown this one before, but here it is anyway, XD! The way the grass is made is beautiful- man, I don't even have the patience to even draw a background, much less spend so much time making the grass look like this! But it's a super great touch, and the night sky through the trees looks super pretty, too!

Drawing Lostfairy as a Manga Magical Girl

Hi, guys! So, I was thinking about what I could do for a drawing. I wanted it to be Animal Jam related but also related to something else. Then, it hit me! I was going to drawing an Animal Jam manga magical girl!

*Finally bursts out laughing* I'm so sorry about the cheesy intro. Uh, it was the best way to explain this.

Well, here's some background knowledge about this "magical girl." In one of the most popular subgenre of manga, shojo, a popular story is a regular girl finds out that she has magical powers and then she appears in a very, very fancy version of herself. 

Here is Lost's main look.

First I sketched out the basic design. Flowing ribbons are popular in magical girls and I thought they looked nice. I put two pearl bracelets just because I liked it and I gave her ballet flats because I thought it was cute.

Then I outlined it with a two black markers.

For the designer skirt I took. a marker and drew the little designs on it.

And here is the finished product!

Oh, here's a little fun bonus picture of me and my supplies sprawled out in my family room while I'm working in my pajamas.

Easter Eggs + Some Artwork

Heyo guys! And today, I'll be showing you some easter eggs that I made, along with some of my latest artwork!

Also, isn't it crazy that Easter and April Fools Day landed on the same day this year? (This upcoming Sunday) 

Anyway, I got these bags of eggs from Micheals! 

I got these really cool metallic eggs, and also these more realistic looking eggs (other then the fact that they're pastel colors XD)

Ahem, anyway, I decided to keep the metallic ones for my family members, and the others for my friends and for me to decorate for fun! I started painting my friend's first (since I was going to keep the metallic ones metallic, but I'll put some stuff on them later, you'll see ^-^) So for my friends, I'm going to make them into their favorite colors. I'll also use stickers and paint to decorate to make them personalized :D

FINALLY! I drew some art!

It is still a WIP, I'll probably add a few small animals in the backround, and obiously add something to the bush! (Or whatever that green stuff is, maybe its broccoli)  I think it is going pretty well! The horse  looks pretty good, I think, when normally my horses turn out.. very.. interesting? I'm going for less cartoony so yeah XD

Random AMAZING Masterpieces From Across Jamaa! (The SUPER-LATE EDITION)

Me: *Casually messes around on computer*
*Stares up at bookmarks bar*
*Notices the AJAC icon and stares for a minute*
*Suddenly remembers I was supposed to post today and panics and clicks super fast*


Hehe, yeah, uh, that's what happened. Sorry guys- I had a practice for the play today (which was super fun, hehe!), and I turned my alarm off because I didn't want it going off in the middle of us running the play. Aaaand then my grandma came over and I completely forgot!

But hey, this may be SUPER late, but it's something, right? I don't want to miss another post (I think I accidentally missed mine last week too! Sorry Sarah! DX)!
So let's do this! XD

 First, a super awesome and ferocious-looking white tiger, which seems to have some kind of powers, XD! I really love how creative this piece is, and that pose is so awesome!!

 This is the best art of AJHQ's crocodile I've ever seen!! The detail on those scales is remarkable, and I love how Shadow added Jamaa Township in the background, even taking the time to add the Mira statue and the ruins around it in the distance! This artist definitely deserves to have WAY more likes than 214, although I can't remember how long ago I took this picture, ehehe.

 This one is from FOREVER ago, but I still love it, XD! The fur detail is just AMAZING, and I like how the background is kinda abstract, too! And goodness, those patterns... I couldn't do that, along with fur detail, like Dysfuncti0nal did!

 I found this one in someone's art gallery, I believe, and I immediately loved it! Goodness, once again, a fur detail MASTER, XD! Rosyrosa360 definitely deserves a bunch of likes on her artwork!

 I totally forgot I had this one, but I'm falling in love with it all over again, XDD! That background is GORGEOUS- they really made the colors blend together so well!! And that rose is so well done!! This is one Masterpiece I'd LOVE to own, hehe!

And lastly, a Zios piece that DEFINITELY deserves more likes!! I love the simplistic style used in this, with no shading or small details- makes everything kinda seem like a silhouette! The Zios mask is done awesomely, and the meaning behind this whole Masterpiece- whether it's Zios banishing the darkness of the phantoms (probably this one, considering the magic trapping the phantoms' tentacles), or the phantoms advancing on Zios and taking his magic- is super cool as well!! I love Masterpieces that have to do with Jamaasian lore!

Animal Jam Art from the Corner of my Drawing Folder

Hi, Guys! So, I was drawing some sketches of Animal Jam animals. So, why not show them?

First up is the cute little lynx! I think my hand was a bit heavy on the shading.

Ahh! It's attack of the giraffe red panda!! I didn't mean to make that long of neck but you know what, he's unique.

Here is a sheep, aka the easiest animal to draw in all of Jamaa. I'm not to sure what it was about it but I didn't have a tough time at all drawing this guy.

And here's a sketch of my flamingo. I hope that I can eventually get around to coloring this.

And, here's our final drawing! I very much enjoy this type of sketch where I write little notes on the characters!

"I Drew the Animal Jam Seal as a Chibi!" (Or, "How to Draw a Roly-Poly Cutie™ in 3 Easy Steps!")

After two pretty detailed editions of my How To Chibi™ series, I figured that continuing to write down the same order of steps over-and-over again would get awfully repetitive and annoying. Therefore, I've truncated the process into the three basic stages. The purpose of continuing with these shortened tutorials is a.) adorable art, and b.) as a study on what chibi-fying looks like when dealing with the varying shapes of AJ animals.



So, without further ado --



Step 1: Reference Photo.



An adorable Seal, but very angular.

We'll have to do something about that if we want UCA (Ultimate Chibi Adorability). 😉



Step 2: Base Sketch



Ta-daaaaaa! The eyes are bigger, everything's rounder and softer, and our Roly-Poly Cutie™'s cheeks are chubbier, too (you can tell by that extra little curve at the side of his mouth, as opposed to the tiny line shown on the official artwork).



Step 3: Color, Lineart, and the Obligatory Sparkles!



Okay, so maybe this was more than just one last step. 😳😁 (The truth is, I kind of forgot to take progress shots for this part.) You can see the expanded version of these steps in previous weekly posts of mine!

The biggest thing I need to elaborate here is how the shadows enhance our Roly-Poly Cutie™'s Roly-Poly Cuteness™. They reveal 3-D curves that weren't previously visible, continue along the curve of lines that already are there, and even put a little dimple on our sweet baby Seal's chin!

If there's one thing I could change about this drawing, it would be the eyes. They don't seem BIG or BRIGHT or ROUND enough for me.

If there's one thing I would want to keep the same at all costs, it would be his mouth. I really like how the 3-D-ness came out! 😊

Making The Weirdest 3D Artwork..

Hey! So.. I tried 3D paint. *cough* ok.. get ready for some pretty weird stuff..

So first, I made this BEFORE St. Patricks Day so erm yeah.

Anyway, 3D paint allows you to make 3D artwork! There are bases that you put in there (that other people made) so my first idea was to try and dress up animals (like in AJ)

Look at dat adorable bunny.. it's kind of creepy if you stare at it too long. Sooo don't. ^-^

And since St. Patricks Day WAS coming up, I decided to give some green style to my lil bunny.

And.. yup... a scarf. Lemme just...
